Pasture's Barn tab: animals and groups, with animals under an active withdrawal period pinned at the top

Replace the barn binder

Feeding plans, treatments, weights, breeding dates, and papers in one place on your phone, instead of a binder, a wall calendar, and memory.

Withdrawal dates up front

Log a treatment with its withdrawal times and Pasture shows the estimated date each meat and milk withdrawal period ends, on the animal and at the top of your barn.

Records you can hand over

Export a lifetime record PDF for any animal, with its identity, pedigree, weights, health log, breeding, production, and show and sale history.

Built for the way a small farm actually runs.

Four steps. One record that follows each animal.

  1. Add your animals

One at a time for breeding stock, dairy animals, and show animals, or as a group for a flock, pen, or herd. Species, breed, tag, registration number, sire and dam, and a photo.

  2. Feed and log the day

Set a feeding plan, then mark animals fed from the Daily checklist. Feed on hand goes down as you feed, and Pasture flags feed that is running low.

  3. Record health and withdrawal

Log vaccines, dewormers, and treatments. Pick a product from the built-in list to fill in a default withdrawal period, confirm it against the label and your vet's advice, and Pasture shows the estimated date it ends.

  4. Export the lifetime record

When an animal is sold, shown, or registered, export a PDF of everything you logged for it: identity, pedigree, weights, health log, breeding, production, and show and sale history.

Everything the barn needs.
Nothing the office wants.

  • Animals and groups

Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, horses, donkeys, rabbits, llamas and alpacas, bees, and more. Track breeding stock one at a time and the rest as a flock or herd, assign them to pens and pastures, and search the barn by name, tag, registration number, or breed.

  • Feeding and feed inventory

Feeding plans, a Daily checklist to mark animals fed, and feed on hand that goes down as you feed, with its cost per unit and a flag when it runs low.

  • Health and withdrawal dates

Log vaccines, dewormers, and treatments for an animal or a whole group. Pick a product to fill in reference meat and milk withdrawal times, and Pasture shows the estimated end date and can remind you. Confirm every time with the drug label and your vet.

  • Breeding and pedigree

Record matings and pregnancy checks with an expected due date based on species, add newborns to the barn from a birth record with dam and sire filled in, and see a three-generation pedigree.

  • Weights and production

Weigh-ins charted over time for each animal, plus egg, milk, fiber, and honey logs by animal, group, or whole farm, with per-unit totals and a 30-day chart.

  • Care tasks and reminders

Recurring tasks like deworming, hoof trims, and vaccines, suggested for the species you keep. Enter when each was last done and Pasture shows the next due date and can remind you.

  • Shows, sales, and documents

Keep show placings, sale details, and papers such as registrations, vet records, NPIP, and insurance alongside your animals, with expired papers flagged and reminders before they lapse.

  • Lifetime record PDF

A per-animal PDF built from everything you logged, ready to share by AirDrop, Mail, or Messages.

  • Backup and restore

Export every record, photo, and document to one backup file, and import it on a new iPhone.

The date that matters, where you can see it.

If you sell eggs, milk, or meat, or take animals to the sale barn, you need to know when a treatment's withdrawal period ends. A sticky note on the fridge is easy to lose. Pasture keeps the estimated end date on the animal and at the top of your barn.

Pasture does the arithmetic and the remembering. The withdrawal time itself, and the decision to sell, stay with you and your vet.

What Pasture does

  • Fills in a default meat and milk withdrawal period when you pick a product from its list
  • Shows the estimated end date of each period on the animal, and lists animals and groups under withdrawal at the top of your barn
  • Can remind you on the day an entered period ends
  • Keeps every treatment in the animal's health log and its lifetime record PDF

What you confirm

  • The withdrawal time for your product, dose, and species, with your veterinarian and the drug label
  • Any extra-label use, which only a veterinarian can set a withdrawal time for (in the US, with FARAD)
  • That meat, milk, or eggs are ready before they are sold or used

Pasture's dates are estimates and its defaults are reference values, not a clearance to sell. The owner is responsible for observing withdrawal periods. See FARAD and our terms.

The lifetime record

One animal. One PDF. Everything you logged.

When an animal is sold, shown, or handed to a new vet, give them more than your memory. Pasture turns the records you kept along the way into a clean PDF you can share.

  • Identity: species, breed, tag, sex, date of birth, and a photo
  • Current weight and age, plus a weight chart and every weigh-in
  • Pedigree from the sire and dam you recorded
  • Health log with every vaccine, dewormer, and treatment you logged, including group treatments
  • Breeding history and production summary
  • Show placings and sale details

Share it by AirDrop, Mail, or Messages, or save it to Files. The PDF shows what you recorded: it is an owner-kept record, not a certification.

Who it's for

Built for keepers who keep records.

Big operations have herd-management software. Pasture is for everyone else.

  • Homesteaders

A few laying hens, a couple of dairy goats, a pig or two for the freezer. Everything in one place instead of five notebooks.

  • Hobby and small farms

Mixed species, a real feed bill, and a vet you call by first name. Pasture is sized for dozens of animals, not thousands.

  • Small breeders

Sires, dams, due dates, and offspring, with a lifetime record to send along when an animal changes hands.

  • Youth show families

Weigh-ins, feed, treatments, and show placings for a project animal, ready to print when the record book is due.

One plan. The whole farm.

Pasture Pro unlocks the whole app. There is no free tier: after the setup screens, Pasture asks you to choose a plan, and the annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

Your farm records, on your phone.

No accounts. No ads. No selling data. The only things that leave your iPhone are crash reports and messages you choose to send us.

  • Your records stay on your iPhone

Animals, treatments, feed, photos, and documents are stored in the app on your phone. No account, and no Pasture server holding your farm records.

  • Works offline

Barns and back pastures rarely have a signal. Logging a feeding, a treatment, or a weight never needs one.

  • No ads, no tracking

No advertising or analytics SDKs, and no tracking across other apps or websites. If the app crashes, a crash report goes to Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix it.

  • Export anytime

Save every record, photo, and document to a backup file you keep, import it on a new iPhone, or export a PDF for any animal.

Questions, answered.

Who is Pasture for?

Homesteads, hobby and small farms, small breeders, and youth show families: people keeping anywhere from a few hens to a few dozen head. It is not built for large commercial operations, which are well served by herd-management software.

What animals does Pasture support?

Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, horses, donkeys and mules, rabbits, llamas and alpacas, bees, working dogs, and an "other" option. Track breeding stock one at a time and the rest by pen, flock, or herd.

How do withdrawal dates work?

When you log a vaccine, dewormer, or treatment, you can pick the product from Pasture's list to fill in a default meat and milk withdrawal period, change it to match your label and your vet's advice, and Pasture shows the estimated date it ends. Withdrawal dates in Pasture are estimates calculated from the withdrawal times you enter, and its built-in drug times are reference values, not a recommendation for your animal. Confirm every withdrawal time with the drug label and your veterinarian (and FARAD for extra-label use). Pasture does not certify that any animal, meat, milk, or eggs are free of drug residues or ready for sale. You, the owner, are responsible for observing withdrawal periods.

Does Pasture sync with iCloud or work on iPad?

Not in this version. Pasture is an iPhone app and keeps your records on that iPhone. To move to a new phone, export a backup file from Settings and import it on the new one.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Logging works offline. You need a connection only to buy or restore Pasture Pro and to send us feedback.

What is in the lifetime record PDF?

The animal's identity and photo, current weight and age, pedigree from the sire and dam you recorded, a weight chart, its full health log, breeding history, production summary, and show and sale records. It shows what you logged; Pasture does not verify or certify it.

How much does Pasture cost?

Pasture needs Pasture Pro after the setup screens, and there is no free tier. In the US App Store: $19.99 a year with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers; $4.99 a month. Prices vary by country, and subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your Apple Account settings. How to cancel.

Do you store my data on your servers?

No. Your farm records stay on your iPhone and we never receive them. The only data that reaches us is crash reports (through Firebase Crashlytics) and feedback you choose to send. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I get help?

The support page covers backups, restoring purchases, and cancelling, and has a form that reaches us directly.
